About Kat

My name is Kathleen Hand and I want to thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me and my company. I am first and foremost a wife to my best friend Eric and mommy to our 3 children: Joey, 8, Markus, 6 and Emma 5. I worked 9 years for Longs Drugs working my way up from a part time cashier to the management team before quitting my job to be a stay at home mom when Joey came along. With my background in retail, I started mystery shopping and selling items on yahoo auctions and www.half.com for extra money.

After Markus came along, mystery shopping wasn't as easy with just 1 child as well as going to the post office to mail packages that had sold. I had previously dabbled in some direct sales companies before so thought I could start again, leaving the kids home with dad in the evening while I earned some money. I wanted to find something I could sell to everyone: women, men, children, seniors, items everyone used everyday. At Eric's suggestion, I started research on opening my own direct sales company. Kat's Coffees & More opened on Friday, September 13, 2002.

I strive to make this company different from the rest. I search out the smaller suppliers in the hopes of helping other new and upcoming companies grow to the potential they deserve. I try to keep the costs of running this business for my consultants very inexpensive so they don't spend their profits on supplies. Our website isn't fancy and our catalog is black and white text, but once you taste our products, you will be whisked away to the place that you call heaven. Whether it's curled up with our blueberry cobbler coffee and your favorite book, sharing the home-style dip at a family gathering, warming up with our chicken enchilada soup and beer bread after a long day of skiing or cooling off with our iced teas after a hot day in the sun, I am positive, you will find something in our 500+ items that you can't live without.

Tell us something about yourself most people wouldn’t know about you: I am a coupon addict! We are big NASCAR fans and can be found on the weekends watching the races while cutting coupons. We are also big supporters of the Stockton Thunder - our local Ice Hockey team and go to as many games as we can during the season.
